Etch-a-Sketch-y: Mitt Romney's communications director says ...

It's quite timely that a video has gone viral putting Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney's speeches to the "Real Slim Shady" song, implying that no one knows who the real Romney is - because Romney's communications director has just compared Romney in the primary to Romney in the general election to being able to shake up his beliefs like an Etch-a-Sketch.

Political comedian John Fugelsang asks on CNN, "Is there a concern that the pressure from Santorum and Gingrich might force the governor to attach so far to the right it would hurt him with moderate voters in the general election?"

Romney's communications director Eric Fehrnstrom responds, "Well, I think you hit a reset button for the fall campaign. Everything changes. It's almost like an Etch-a-Sketch. You can kind of shake it up and we start all over again."

The media, President Obama's staffers and opponent Rick Santorum were quick to jump on that comment. Santorum even put it on his website, writing, "We all knew Mitt Romney didn't have any core convictions, but we appreciate his staff going on national television to affirm that point for anyone who had any doubts."

What do you think, politicos? Is it damaging??
