You haven?t specified what kind of retail business you have. Promotions are different for each type of business.
One thing you might consider when you say advertising costs too much, is how much is it going to cost you if nobody shows up? There are creative ways to advertise, again depending on what type of retail you are running. Clothing would have completely different promotions from an electronic store.
I know it sounds kind of ?Woo Woo?, but your frame of mind and your vision are what dictates your results. If you are putting your concentration on your fears and your bills, that?s what you attract more of. Whereas, if you concentrate on who you want to do business with, how your product will benefit them and how you will attract them, then that?s what will be your result.
If you sit down and think about when you first opened your business and try to get back into that head-space, you will remember how you had a specific plan in mind, you had specific customers you were aiming for and probably were very excited about the whole thing! Try to get back into that again.
I have a product that I market to business owners, it?s a tool that is very inexpensive, yet very effective advertising. It?s all about reconnecting with your customers, as well as generating new business and referrals. The cool part is that it would be another stream of income for you to help you keep your business afloat!
