The Reining Liberty Ranch, a new veterans program in Traverse City, held a flag raising ceremony on Monday afternoon.
The ranch serves area disabled veterans by providing them with a unique therapeutic program centered around riding and caring for horses.
Today's ceremony meant a lot to the organization and it's members because they have only been around since November.
"It means acceptance of this ground," says Becki Bigelow, owner of the Reining Liberty Ranch. "It means belief in tomorrow. It means we see a future together and we all together hope to serve well into the future. It's a big important day. It makes us somewhat official."
The flags and pole were donated by the Disabled American Veterans local chapter.
The Traverse City coast guard raised the flag and other area military chapters attended the ceremony, along with friends and family members of the veterans.
