Tickets are still available for the best seats in the house for Saturday?s Auckland Pride Parade, the GABA GlamStand, where guests can enjoy a great view of the floats, plus food and drinks, and mingle with VIPs.
The initiative will benefit the Gay Auckland Business Association?s (GABA) Charitable Trust, and tickets are $75 for GABA members and $85 for non-members.
They come with a seat and a view of the parade, a glass of bubbles on arrival and catered food.
GABA President Michael Richardson says GABA is very happy to be working with the Auckland Pride Board and to be involved with the new Pride festival in a meaningful way.
?The GlamStand will provide grand-stand seating for GABA members and invited guests including VIPs. The format is consistent with other pride parades and similar events run internationally with great success.
?We believe there will be demand for high-quality seating and facilities and this is an opportunity to enhance the profile of Auckland Pride, GABA, and the wider gay community.?
VIP guests will include US Ambassador David Huebner and his partner Duane McWaine, Auckland Mayor Len Brown and his deputy Penny Hulse, marriage equality campaigning MP Louisa Wall, Marilyn Waring, MPs Nikki Kaye, Jacinda Ardern and Paul Hutchison. This year?s Auckland Pride Parade theme is ?One Community? and organisers say the crowds can expect explosions of colour, flashing sequins, over the top drag queens, hot toned bodies, wild dancing, fantastic music and even a full choir performing live on the back of a truck.
